Gundam Reconguista in G V: Beyond the Peril (Gのレコンギスタ V 死線を越えて, G no Rekonigisuta V: Shisen o Koete) was the fifth and final film compilation of Mobile Suit Gundam: Reconguista in G, directed by Yoshiyuki Tomino and produced by Sunrise. Released in Japanese theatres on 23 November 2022, the film concluded Tomino’s film compilation project and brought the story of the Regild Century to its resolution.

Production

As the final entry in the five-film compilation series, Beyond the Peril received Tomino’s most extensive revisions, with significant new animation for the climactic sequences of the story. Story

The fifth film covered the climactic events of Reconguista in G, in which all the competing factions — the Capital Army, the Amerian Army, Towasanga, and the Pirate Corps — reached the culmination of their conflicting agendas. Bellri Zenam and Aida Surugan played central roles in the resolution, using their unique connection to the YG-111 Gundam G-Self and the secrets of the Capital Tower to forge a path forward.

The film depicted the final confrontations between the G-Self and the various opposing mobile suits, including the VGMM-Gb10 Gundam G-Lucifer piloted by Luin Lee. These battles served as the physical manifestation of the ideological and political conflicts that had driven the story throughout the series.
