The Peacemillion (ピースミリオン, Pīsumirion) was a large space battleship from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Developed by Gundam Scientist Professor G and Tallgeese engineer Mike Howard, the massive vessel was completed in AC 192 and had travelled even beyond the solar system before being hidden on the moon by Doctor J and Howard prior to Operation Meteor. Howard brought out Peacemillion during the Eve Wars, where it first served as Zechs Merquise’s base before he joined White Fang, and then as the Gundams’ mobile base during the final phase of the war.

Overview

The Peacemillion represented the Gundam Scientists’ long-term planning—a mobile platform capable of supporting extended operations without reliance on terrestrial or colonial infrastructure. Its stealth mechanism, designed by Professor G, allowed the massive vessel to avoid detection despite its size, making it an ideal covert base of operations.

Design

Though equipped with numerous beam cannons mounted in bow slits, the Peacemillion was never shown firing them, instead relying on the mobile suits it carried during combat. The vessel’s peculiar form—designed to accommodate its stealth mechanism—distinguished it from conventional battleships.

The ship featured extensive hangar facilities capable of housing multiple Gundams simultaneously, along with workshop areas where Howard performed repairs and upgrades to the mobile suits.

Armament

Beam cannons

Many beam cannons were mounted in the bow slits. However, the Peacemillion never fired these weapons during any engagement, suggesting they were either defensive last-resort armament or that the ship’s strategic value as a mobile base outweighed its use as a combat platform.

Special equipment

Stealth mechanism

Installed by Professor G, the stealth mechanism took advantage of the ship’s peculiar form to avoid detection. This system allowed the massive battleship to evade enemy pursuit despite its enormous size—approximately 3,000 metres in length—making it one of the few capital ships capable of covert operations.

Operational history

Construction and early service

The name ship of the Peacemillion-class, the Peacemillion was a massive space battleship developed by Gundam Scientist Professor G and Tallgeese engineer Mike Howard. After its completion in AC 192, it travelled even beyond the solar system on extended missions.

Sometime prior to Operation Meteor, the battleship was hidden on the moon by Doctor J and Howard, preserved as a strategic asset for the coming conflict.

Eve Wars deployment

Howard brought out Peacemillion during the Eve Wars. It first served as Zechs Merquise’s base and refuelling station after he defected from OZ with the repaired Tallgeese (or Tallgeese Flugel in Glory of the Losers). When Zechs departed to join White Fang, the ship became the Gundams’ mobile base.

Howard used the Peacemillion’s extensive workshop facilities to repair all the Gundams and perform crucial upgrades, transforming the Heavyarms into the Heavyarms Custom and the Sandrock into the Sandrock Custom.

The battleship’s crew included Howard, the Gundam pilots (Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Chang Wufei, Trowa Barton, Quatre Raberba Winner), Lucrezia Noin, Sally Po, Rasid Kurama, and several Maganac Corps members.

Final battle and sacrifice

In the final battle against White Fang, the Peacemillion crew rammed the battleship into the Libra’s main cannon, preventing it from firing and creating a massive explosion. However, the damaged Libra still continued on its course to Earth to complete the original Operation Meteor through colony drop.

The Gundam Scientists, imprisoned aboard Libra, explained to Duo that if they could activate Peacemillion’s engines, it would throw Libra off course and cause it to explode harmlessly in space. When the scientists reached Peacemillion’s controls, they were confronted by Quinze, but Doctor G activated the engines anyway.

The engine room exploded, killing all six men (Doctor J, Professor G, Doctor S, Professor H, Master O, and Quinze) as the engines reached full power. The Libra was stopped in its tracks, though one section separated and continued moving towards Earth.

The rest of Peacemillion and Libra was last seen floating away from Earth. It is unknown whether either battleship exploded or simply drifted into space.

Notable crew

The Peacemillion was crewed by a diverse group united in their opposition to White Fang’s extremism:

Behind the scenes

The Peacemillion’s design by Junya Ishigaki featured an unconventional diamond-like structure that distinguished it from typical battleship designs. This unique form was integral to its stealth mechanism functionality.

The First Order flagship Supremacy in the 2017 Star Wars film The Last Jedi bears a strong resemblance to Peacemillion, suggesting possible design influence.

The Peacemillion’s sacrifice—ramming Libra and later providing the engine thrust to divert the battlestation—paralleled the self-sacrifice theme running throughout Gundam Wing. The Gundam Scientists’ deaths aboard the ship they helped create provided fitting closure to their arc.
