Manny Ambassada
Capital Guard cadet and close friend of Bellri Zenam.
Manny Ambassada (マニィ・アン巴萨ダ, Manī Anbasada) was a Capital Guard cadet and close friend of Bellri Zenam during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Reconguista in G. As a fellow cadet at the Capital Tower Academy, Manny shared Bellri’s training and early experiences, but their paths diverged dramatically when Bellri became the pilot of the YG-111 Gundam G-Self.
Biography
Academy days
Manny Ambassada trained alongside Bellri Zenam at the Capital Guard Academy, where they were both prepared for careers protecting the sacred Capital Tower. Like Bellri, Manny was taught the official narrative about the Tower’s purpose, the photon battery energy supply, and the importance of maintaining the established order of the Regild Century.
The friendship between Manny and Bellri was genuine, rooted in shared experiences and mutual respect. However, the events that followed Bellri’s discovery of the G-Self placed their friendship under significant strain, as Bellri’s association with the Pirate Corps and his absence from the Capital Guard made him a person of interest to the authorities.
The divergence
When Bellri Zenam became the sole pilot of the YG-111 Gundam G-Self and joined the Megafauna, Manny remained with the Capital Guard. This placed him in a difficult position — torn between his loyalty to his friend and his duty to an organisation that viewed Bellri’s actions with increasing suspicion.
The Capital Guard’s response to the G-Self’s activation and Bellri’s departure was complicated by the involvement of multiple factions. The Capital Army had its own agenda, the Amerian Army was a potential adversary, and the forces of Towasanga on the Moon represented an unknown variable. Manny found himself navigating this political landscape as a junior officer trying to reconcile his personal feelings with institutional expectations.
Personality & traits
Manny Ambassada was a loyal and principled individual whose commitment to his friends was matched by his sense of duty. The conflict between these two values — personal loyalty and institutional obligation — defined his character arc throughout Reconguista in G. Unlike some of his peers, Manny did not simply follow orders blindly; he struggled with the moral complexities of the situation and sought to find a path that honoured both his friendship with Bellri and his responsibilities as a Capital Guard cadet.
