ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris

The ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris (ASW-G-66 ガンダムキマリス) is a Gundam Frame from the Calamity War and the primary mobile suit of Gaelio Bauduin in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. It is upgraded several times (Kimaris → Kimaris Trooper → Kimaris Vidar) and becomes the main rival to McGillis Fareed’s ASW-G-01 Gundam Bael after Gaelio’s return.

History

The Kimaris was assigned to Gaelio Bauduin of the Seven Stars and saw combat in the early conflict with Tekkadan. Gaelio was apparently killed by McGillis; the Kimaris was heavily damaged and later rebuilt as the Kimaris Trooper. Gaelio, having survived and taken the alias “Vidar”, eventually pilots the Kimaris Vidar to oppose McGillis and the Bael. The Kimaris line thus serves as the chief Gundam antagonist to both Tekkadan and McGillis.

Design and variants

The Kimaris uses dual Ahab Reactors and nanolaminate armour. It is configured for high mobility and close combat, with lances and other melee weapons. Variants include:

• ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Trooper – Rebuild with enhanced mobility
• ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris Vidar – Gaelio’s final configuration as Vidar
