Gundam Frame

A Gundam Frame (ガンダムフレーム, Gandamu Furēmu) is one of 72 high-performance mobile suit frames created during the Calamity War in the Post Disaster timeline. Each frame uses dual Ahab Reactors and is designed for use with the Alaya-Vijnana System. They are the most capable mobile suits in the era and are central to Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.

Overview

The 72 Gundam Frames were built to combat autonomous mobile armors. After the war, Gjallarhorn restricted and sealed many of them; others were lost or repurposed. The ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos, ASW-G-01 Gundam Bael, and ASW-G-66 Gundam Kimaris are among the frames that appear in the series. Frames are designated by the ASW-G-XX numbering scheme and often named after demons (e.g. Barbatos, Bael, Kimaris).

Design

Gundam Frames use dual Ahab Reactors for higher output than single-reactor mass-production units like the EB-06 Graze. They are armoured with nanolaminate armour and their cockpits are designed for Alaya-Vijnana interface, allowing pilots with the implant to achieve maximum performance.
