xvm-fzc Gundam Legilis
Vagan's ultimate Gundam, designed to rival the Earth Federation's AGE series.
The xvm-fzc Gundam Legilis (ガンダムレギルス, Gandamu Regirusu) was Vagan’s ultimate mobile suit in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, designed to rival the Earth Federation’s AGE series of Gundams. The Legilis represented Vagan’s answer to the AGE System — a mobile suit that could match or exceed the performance of the Federation’s most advanced units.
The Legilis was one of the most powerful mobile suits of the Advanced Generation era, featuring advanced weaponry, exceptional mobility, and the capability to engage multiple enemy units simultaneously. Its designation as a “Gundam” was significant — it reflected Vagan’s ambition to create a mobile suit that could stand alongside the Federation’s legendary machines.
History
Development
The Gundam Legilis was developed by Vagan’s engineering corps using technology reverse-engineered from captured Federation mobile suits and their own independent research. The project was initiated in response to the growing threat posed by the AGE series of Gundams, which had proven superior to standard Vagan mobile suits like the Gafran.
Vagan’s goal was to create a mobile suit that could match the AGE System’s evolutionary capability. While the Legilis did not possess the AGE System itself, it incorporated advanced technologies that allowed it to compete with the Federation’s latest Gundams on the battlefield.
Combat debut
The Legilis was deployed during the later stages of the war, when the conflict between Earth Federation and Vagan had reached its most intense phase. The mobile suit was assigned to Vagan’s elite pilots, who used it to engage the Federation’s AGE-series Gundams directly.
In its encounters with the AGE-3 Gundam and the AGE-FX, the Legilis proved to be a formidable opponent. Its performance demonstrated that Vagan’s technological capabilities had advanced significantly over the course of the war.
Rivalry with the AGE-FX
The Legilis’s most significant engagements were against the AGE-FX piloted by Kio Asuno. These battles represented the ultimate clash between the Federation’s AGE System and Vagan’s best technological achievement. The Legilis pushed the AGE-FX to its limits, requiring Kio to fully utilise his exceptional X-Rounder abilities and the AGE-FX’s FX Burst System to prevail.
Design
Specifications
The Legilis stood approximately 21.0 metres tall and was powered by a plasma reactor outputting 7500 kW — placing it in the same power class as the AGE-3 Gundam. Its weight of 65 tonnes (gross) reflected a balance between armour protection and mobility.
Armaments
Beam Rifle
The Legilis carried an advanced beam rifle as its primary ranged weapon, capable of matching the output of the Federation’s DODS Rifles.
Beam Shield
A beam shield provided defensive capability, using energy barriers to deflect incoming attacks. This technology was more advanced than conventional physical shields.
Beam Sabers
Two beam sabers were mounted for close combat, with output levels comparable to the Gundam line’s beam sabers.
