VGMM-Gb16 Dahack
Amerian mobile suit used by the Amerian Army during the Reconguista conflict.
The VGMM-Gb16 Dahack (VGMM-Gb16 ダハック) was an Amerian mobile suit operated by the Amerian Army during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Reconguista in G. Part of the Amerian military’s mobile suit programme, the Dahack served alongside the VGMM-Gb15 G-Aitrash as one of the standard combat machines fielded by Amerian forces.
History
Development
The Dahack was developed by Ameria as part of its broader mobile suit programme, which included both prototype Gundam-type machines like the VGMM-Gb10 Gundam G-Lucifer and mass production units like the G-Aitrash. The Dahack occupied a position in the Amerian arsenal that balanced performance with production efficiency, making it suitable for widespread deployment.
Like other Amerian mobile suits of the era, the Dahack was powered by a photon battery system, giving it the energy capacity needed for sustained combat operations. This was a significant advantage in the Regild Century, where access to photon battery technology was a key strategic factor.
Combat operations
The Dahack was deployed in the same operational contexts as other Amerian mobile suits, participating in the multi-faction conflicts that characterised the Reconguista era. Amerian forces encountered the Megafauna and the Pirate Corps on several occasions, as well as forces from the Capital Army and Towasanga. The Dahack’s reliability and versatility made it a mainstay of these operations.
While individual Dahack units were not as powerful as the Gundam-type machines that played prominent roles in the series, their numbers and the competence of their pilots made them a consistent factor in the military balance of the Regild Century.
Design & capabilities
The Dahack featured a practical design optimised for combat effectiveness and ease of maintenance. Its armament was standard for Amerian mobile suits, with beam sabres for close combat and a beam rifle for ranged engagements. The machine’s photon battery power system ensured that it could operate effectively in prolonged engagements without requiring external power supply.
