VGMM-Gb15 G-Aitrash
Amerian mass production mobile suit used by the Amerian Army during the Reconguista conflict.
The VGMM-Gb15 G-Aitrash (VGMM-Gb15 G-アイトラッシュ) was a mass production mobile suit developed and operated by the Amerian Army during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Reconguista in G. As a mass production unit, the G-Aitrash formed the backbone of the Amerian Army’s mobile suit forces, providing reliable general-purpose combat capability across the diverse operational environments of the Regild Century.
History
Production and deployment
The G-Aitrash was produced in significant numbers by Ameria to equip its mobile suit units. Unlike the prototype Gundam-type machines such as the VGMM-Gb10 Gundam G-Lucifer and the VGMM-Gb14 Gundam G-Rach, the G-Aitrash was designed for quantity as well as quality, allowing the Amerian Army to field substantial mobile suit formations.
The machine’s designation within the Amerian military nomenclature system placed it in the same family as the Amerian Gundam programme, sharing the “VGMM-Gb” prefix that identified it as part of Ameria’s advanced mobile suit lineage. However, the G-Aitrash sacrificed some of the cutting-edge performance of the Gundam prototypes in favour of manufacturability and operational reliability.
Combat role
The G-Aitrash served as the workhorse of the Amerian Army’s mobile suit corps, deployed in engagements against the Pirate Corps, the Capital Army, and other opposing forces. Its photon battery-powered systems gave it a performance advantage over many conventional mobile suits, even if it lacked the exceptional capabilities of the Amerian Gundam prototypes.
During the Reconguista conflict, G-Aitrash units were encountered by the Megafauna and its allies on multiple occasions. While individually less formidable than the Gundam-type machines, G-Aitrash units operating in formation presented a significant threat that required careful tactical responses.
Design & capabilities
The G-Aitrash featured a design optimised for mass production, with simplified manufacturing processes that allowed for rapid deployment. Its standard armament included beam sabres for close combat and a beam rifle for ranged engagements, supported by a defensive shield. The photon battery power system provided sufficient energy for sustained operations without the need for frequent recharging.
