AGE-3F Gundam AGE-3 Fortress

The AGE-3F Gundam AGE-3 Fortress (ガンダムAGE-3 フォートレス, Gandamu Eiji Surī Fōtoresu) was a heavy artillery configuration of the AGE-3 Gundam in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. Designed for long-range bombardment and fire support, the Fortress configuration transformed the AGE-3 into a mobile artillery platform capable of delivering devastating firepower at extended ranges.

History

Development

The Fortress configuration was developed using the AGE System’s evolutionary design process during the third generation of the war against Vagan. Combat data collected from the AGE-3 Normal’s deployments identified a need for a mobile suit configuration that could provide long-range fire support for Federation forces.

The AGE System proposed the Fortress configuration — a variant that prioritised artillery firepower over mobility. The configuration incorporated heavy long-range weapon systems that allowed the AGE-3 to engage Vagan targets from distances where the enemy could not effectively return fire.

Combat deployment

The AGE-3 Fortress was deployed by Kio Asuno during operations against Vagan forces in the third generation of the war. The Fortress configuration was particularly effective in situations where the Federation needed to engage heavily fortified Vagan positions or provide fire support for advancing ground forces.

The Fortress’s long-range artillery capabilities made it a valuable asset in siege operations and defensive battles. However, the heavy weapon systems reduced the mobile suit’s mobility, making it vulnerable to close-range attacks.

Design

Specifications

The AGE-3 Fortress stood approximately 18.5 metres tall and was powered by a plasma reactor with an output of approximately 5200 kW. Its armour was constructed from E-Carbon, the standard composite material used for AGE System mobile suits. The Fortress configuration was significantly heavier than the AGE-3 Normal due to the additional weight of its artillery systems.

Armaments

Heavy Artillery Cannon

The Fortress’s primary weapon was a heavy artillery cannon capable of delivering devastating long-range bombardment. The cannon was designed to engage targets at maximum range, making it one of the most powerful mobile suit-mounted weapons of the Advanced Generation era.

Beam Sabers

The Fortress retained beam sabers for close combat, though the configuration’s reduced mobility made close engagements more challenging.

Shield

A defensive shield was mounted on the Fortress’s left arm, providing protection against enemy fire.
