Mileina Vashti

Mileina Vashti (ミレイナ・ヴァスティ, Mireina Vasuti) was a CIC operator and mobile suit technician aboard the Ptolemaios in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season and the film Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer. She is the daughter of Ian Vashti, Celestial Being’s chief engineer, and followed in his footsteps by serving on the same ship and supporting the Gundam Meisters with technical and command-centre duties.

Biography

Second season

Mileina joined the Ptolemaios crew when Celestial Being resumed operations four years after Operation Fallen Angels. Still in her mid-teens, she worked in the ship’s CIC (Combat Information Centre) and assisted with mobile suit maintenance alongside her father. Her cheerful personality helped maintain morale amongst the crew during the campaign against the A-LAWS and the Innovators.

Film

In Awakening of the Trailblazer, Mileina continued to serve on the Ptolemaios II (or Ptolemaios 2 Kai), participating in humanity’s first contact with the ELS and the final battle to protect Earth.

Personality and traits

Mileina was portrayed as youthful, energetic and optimistic, providing a contrast to the more serious senior crew and Gundam Meisters. Her presence underscored the human cost of the conflict and the next generation’s involvement in Celestial Being’s mission.

Relationships

Ian Vashti

Mileina is Ian’s daughter; both served on the Ptolemaios, with Ian as chief engineer and Mileina as CIC operator and technician. Their relationship reflected the family dimension of Celestial Being’s crew.

Behind the scenes

Mileina Vashti was introduced in Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season as part of the expanded Ptolemaios crew and appeared again in the film, representing the younger generation of Celestial Being personnel.
