The vessel served as the base of operations for Celestial Being’s armed intervention activities, carrying the organisation’s Gundams and supporting crew during operations throughout the world.

The Ptolemaios was designed to serve as both a mobile suit carrier and command vessel for Celestial Being, providing the organisation with the capability to deploy its Gundams and conduct armed interventions from a mobile base. The vessel’s advanced technology and capabilities made it essential for Celestial Being’s operations, allowing the organisation to operate independently from fixed bases.

The vessel’s name was derived from the ancient Greek astronomer Ptolemy, reflecting Celestial Being’s scientific and philosophical foundations. The Ptolemaios’ design emphasised stealth and mobility, allowing it to operate undetected whilst supporting Celestial Being’s interventions.

History

The Ptolemaios was deployed in Anno Domini 2307 as Celestial Being began its armed interventions, serving as the organisation’s primary base of operations. The vessel supported the Gundam Meisters throughout their missions, providing logistical support, tactical coordination, and combat assistance as needed.

The Ptolemaios participated in numerous operations during Celestial Being’s armed interventions, often finding itself in combat situations despite its primary role as a support vessel. The vessel’s capabilities were tested during the United Nations Forces’ final assault on Celestial Being, where it sustained significant damage but continued to support the organisation’s operations.

The Ptolemaios was eventually destroyed during the final battle against the United Nations Forces, though many of its crew members survived. The vessel’s successor, the Ptolemaios II, was developed to replace it and continue supporting Celestial Being’s operations.

Design

The Ptolemaios featured a distinctive design optimised for mobile suit operations and stealth capabilities. The vessel’s layout included extensive hangar facilities for housing and maintaining Gundams, command and control facilities for tactical operations, and crew quarters for the organisation’s support personnel.
