Mikazuki Augus

Mikazuki Augus (三日月・オーガス, Mikazuki Ōgasu) is the primary mobile suit pilot of Tekkadan and the pilot of the ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos in Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. A former human debris (child soldier) on Mars, he is fiercely loyal to Orga Itsuka and fights with little regard for his own safety, making him Tekkadan’s most effective combatant.

Biography

Mikazuki was raised as human debris and underwent the Alaya-Vijnana System implant, which allows him to interface directly with mobile suits and grants enhanced reflexes. He and Orga led the rebellion that turned CGS into Tekkadan. As Tekkadan’s ace, he pilots the Gundam Barbatos—a recovered Gundam Frame from the Calamity War—throughout the conflict with Gjallarhorn, the economic blocs, and rival factions. His relationship with Atra Mixta and Kudelia Aina Bernstein becomes central to his character; he eventually has a child with Atra. He fights until the final battles, where he is mortally wounded and dies alongside the fall of Tekkadan.

Personality and abilities

Mikazuki is emotionally reserved and often defers to Orga’s decisions, stating that he will do whatever Orga asks. In combat he is ruthless and precise, using the Barbatos in close-quarters to devastating effect. His high compatibility with the Alaya-Vijnana System makes him one of the few pilots who can fully exploit the Barbatos’s capabilities. The physical strain of the system and his willingness to push his body contribute to his eventual decline and death.
