Human Instrumentality Project
The Human Instrumentality Project is SEELE’s central plan in the Evangelion franchise: to dissolve the boundaries between individual human minds and merge all of humanity into a single collective existence. By doing so, SEELE aims to end the loneliness and pain caused by the “hedgehog’s dilemma”—the inability to truly connect without hurting one another.
The project relies on the Evangelion units, Lilith, and the Angels, and drives the climax of both Neon Genesis Evangelion / The End of Evangelion and the Rebuild of Evangelion films.
