Plot
Synopsis
Main article: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny episodes
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny begins on 2 October CE 73, the same day as two pivotal events: the Break the World incident, in which ZAFT extremists dropped Junius Seven on Earth, and the Battle at Armory One, an attack on the ZAFT mobile suit storage facility. These events catalysed the outbreak of the Second Alliance-PLANT War between the Earth Alliance and ZAFT.
The shadow organisation LOGOS manipulated the Earth Alliance from behind the scenes, whilst ZAFT, under the leadership of Gilbert Durandal, pursued its own agenda. The series follows Shinn Asuka, a ZAFT pilot who lost his family in the Break the World incident, and the return of characters from the first series including Kira Yamato, Athrun Zala, and Lacus Clyne.
Themes
SEED Destiny continued to explore themes of war, revenge, and the cycle of violence between Naturals and Coordinators. The series also examined political manipulation, with LOGOS controlling the Earth Alliance and pursuing conflict for their own benefit.
