Dique Gunhale

Dique Gunhale (ディルク・ガンハル, Diruku Ganharu) was an engineer of the Earth Federation in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. A close friend and colleague of Flit Asuno, Dique contributed to the maintenance and development of the Gundam mobile suits throughout the decades-long war against Vagan.

Biography

Engineering career

Dique was a talented engineer who worked at the Earth Federation’s mobile suit development and maintenance facility. He was part of the team responsible for keeping the Federation’s mobile suits operational and for implementing the design improvements proposed by the AGE System.

His friendship with Flit Asuno began during the development of the AGE-1 Gundam. While Flit was the visionary behind the AGE System, Dique was among the engineers who helped translate Flit’s designs into functional hardware. This collaborative relationship was essential to the success of the AGE System project.

Supporting the Diva

Throughout the first generation of the war, Dique provided engineering support for the assault ship Diva and its mobile suit complement. He was responsible for maintaining the AGE-1 Gundam and ensuring that the mobile suit remained combat-ready between missions.

Dique’s engineering expertise was particularly valuable during field operations, when battle damage needed to be repaired quickly and the AGE System’s proposed modifications needed to be implemented under combat conditions. His calm and methodical approach to problem-solving made him an invaluable member of the Diva’s support crew.

Fatherhood

Dique was the father of Wootbit Gunhale, who would go on to serve in the Federation military during the later stages of the war.
