AGE-1T Gundam AGE-1 Titus

The AGE-1T Gundam AGE-1 Titus (ガンダムAGE-1 タイタス, Gandamu Eiji Wan Taitasu) was a heavy armour variant of the AGE-1 Gundam, developed by the AGE System for close-quarters combat. The “Titus” configuration was one of the first evolutionary branches of the AGE System, demonstrating the technology’s ability to adapt to specific battlefield requirements.

The Titus was distinguished by its heavily reinforced limbs and massive close-combat weaponry. The design sacrificed mobility for raw power, making it ideal for situations where the AGE-1 needed to overwhelm heavily armoured enemies at close range.

History

Development

The Titus variant was generated by the AGE System in response to combat data that indicated a need for greater close-quarters combat capability. When the AGE-1 Normal encountered Vagan mobile suits with armour that resisted beam weapons, the AGE System analysed the situation and proposed a heavy armour configuration.

The Titus featured significantly reinforced limbs that doubled as weapons — the massive arms could deliver devastating punches, and the legs were designed to deliver powerful kicks. This made the Titus a formidable brawler in close combat.

Combat use

Flit Asuno deployed the Titus configuration during battles where Vagan forces fielded heavily armoured mobile suits. The Titus’s reinforced limbs and close-combat weapons proved effective against enemies that the Normal configuration struggled to penetrate.

The Titus was particularly effective in urban and confined space combat, where its raw power could be brought to bear without sacrificing too much mobility to the restricted environment.

Design

Specifications

The Titus was significantly heavier than the AGE-1 Normal, weighing approximately 60 tonnes in gross configuration. The additional weight came from reinforced armour plating and the massive close-combat weapons integrated into its limbs. Despite the increased weight, the Titus maintained sufficient mobility for close-quarters combat through careful weight distribution.

Armaments

Twin Blade Rifle

The Titus’s primary weapon was a specialised twin blade rifle that combined ranged beam capability with close-combat melee function. The weapon could fire DODS energy bolts at range or be used as a melee weapon in close combat.

Heat Knives

The Titus carried two heat knives — blade-like weapons that used thermal energy to cut through enemy armour. These were particularly effective against Vagan mobile suits that possessed heavy defensive plating.

Reinforced Limbs

The Titus’s most distinctive feature was its reinforced limbs, which served as weapons in themselves. The massive arms could deliver devastating punches capable of crushing enemy mobile suit armour, while the reinforced legs delivered powerful kicks that could knock down opponents.
