RGE-B790 Genoace

The RGE-B790 Genoace (RGE-B790 ジェノアス, RGE-B790 Jenoasu) was the Earth Federation’s primary mass production mobile suit during the first generation of the war against Vagan in Mobile Suit Gundam AGE. The Genoace formed the backbone of the Federation’s mobile suit forces and served alongside the prototype AGE-1 Gundam in numerous combat operations.

History

Development

The Genoace was developed by the Earth Federation as a mass production mobile suit to counter the Vagan threat. Unlike the prototype AGE-1 Gundam, which was built using the revolutionary AGE System, the Genoace was designed using conventional engineering principles. This meant it could be produced in large numbers at a lower cost than the Gundam, making it the backbone of the Federation’s mobile suit forces.

The Genoace’s design drew on decades of mobile suit development experience within the Federation. It was intended to be a versatile, reliable unit that could be operated by pilots of varying skill levels.

Combat deployment

The Genoace saw extensive service during the first generation of the war. Genoace pilots were deployed alongside the AGE-1 Gundam in combat operations against Vagan mobile suits, providing numerical support and tactical flexibility.

Despite its conventional design, the Genoace was a capable combat unit. Its beam weapons were effective against Vagan mobile suits, and its E-Carbon armour provided reasonable protection against enemy fire. However, the Genoace was consistently outmatched by Vagan’s more advanced mobile suits, which forced Federation pilots to rely on superior tactics and numbers to achieve victory.

Legacy

The Genoace established the template for Earth Federation mass production mobile suits in the Advanced Generation era. Its successor, the RGE-G1100 Adele, would carry forward the Genoace’s legacy into the second generation of the war.

Design

Specifications

The Genoace stood approximately 18.5 metres tall and was powered by a plasma reactor. Its armour was constructed from E-Carbon, a composite material that was standard for Federation mobile suits of the era. The Genoace’s design prioritised reliability and ease of maintenance over cutting-edge performance.

Armaments

Beam Rifle

The Genoace’s primary weapon was a standard beam rifle, capable of delivering powerful energy bolts at medium to long range. While not as advanced as the DODS Rifle used by the AGE-1 Gundam, the Genoace’s beam rifle was a reliable and effective weapon.

Beam Sabers

The Genoace carried two beam sabers for close combat, mounted in its backpack. These were standard Federation-issue beam weapons.

Shield

A defensive shield was mounted on the Genoace’s left arm, providing protection against ballistic and beam weapons.

Known pilots

Various Earth Federation pilots operated the Genoace during the first generation of the war.
