Zum City
Capital colony of Side 3 and seat of Zeon government.
Zum City (ズム・シティ, Zumu Shiti) was the capital colony of Side 3 (Munzo), named after Zeon Zum Deikun. It housed the central government of the Autonomous Republic of Munzo, the Republic of Zeon, and the Principality of Zeon.
Role
Zum City contained most of Side 3’s government institutions and bureaucratic headquarters. Each colony (or “Bunch”) in the cluster maintained local governance whilst remaining subject to the central government in Zum City. The Zeon Party and later the Zabi-led state operated from here; during the One Year War, Darcia Bakharov was temporarily elevated to Sovereign of the Principality whilst Zabi family members were away from Zum City.
Industry and facilities
Zeonic completed the first MS-06A Zaku II at its Zum City factory in August UC 0077. Nanai Miguel worked in Colony 1’s Newtype laboratories in Zum City in UC 0083 when Char Aznable visited Side 3. In Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin, Garma Zabi and surviving cadets were paraded across Zum City after a rebellion at the academy.
