The VGMM-Gf10 Gundam G-Lucifer Full Dress (VGMM-Gf10 ガンダムG-ルシファー フルドレス) was an upgraded configuration of the VGMM-Gb10 Gundam G-Lucifer, operated by the Amerian Army during the events of Mobile Suit Gundam: Reconguista in G. The “Full Dress” designation referred to the addition of heavy armour and enhanced weapons systems that transformed the G-Lucifer from a standard commander mobile suit into a heavily armed combat platform.
History
Upgrade programme
The Full Dress configuration was developed by Ameria as an upgrade to the base VGMM-Gb10 Gundam G-Lucifer. The upgrade programme reflected the Amerian Army’s recognition that the escalating conflicts of the Regild Century required machines with greater combat capability than the standard G-Lucifer configuration could provide.
The Full Dress added substantial armour plating, enhanced propulsion systems, and additional weapons to the base machine. This came at the cost of increased weight and reduced mobility, but the trade-off was considered acceptable for the combat scenarios in which the Full Dress was expected to operate.
Combat operations
The G-Lucifer Full Dress was piloted by Luin Lee (alias “Mask”), the same officer who operated the standard G-Lucifer configuration. The upgraded machine’s enhanced capabilities allowed Mask to engage more powerful opponents and survive engagements that would have been too risky in the lighter configuration. Its confrontations with the YG-111 Gundam G-Self and other advanced mobile suits were among the most significant battles of the Reconguista conflict.
The Full Dress configuration was particularly effective in direct confrontations where its heavy armour and enhanced firepower could be brought to bear. However, the additional weight reduced the machine’s agility, making it less effective in situations requiring rapid manoeuvring or evasion.
Design & capabilities
The Full Dress configuration was distinguished by its substantially increased armour coverage, which gave the machine a bulkier, more imposing appearance compared to the standard G-Lucifer. The additional armour was concentrated on the torso, shoulders, and limbs, providing comprehensive protection against incoming fire.
The enhanced weapons suite included a heavy beam rifle with greater firepower than the standard G-Lucifer’s beam rifle, as well as a reinforced shield that could withstand more punishment. The photon battery power system was upgraded to handle the increased energy demands of the Full Dress’s heavier systems.
