The Big O

The Big O (1999–2000) is the original 13-episode series that established the The Big O franchise. Designer Keiichi Satō, director Kazuyoshi Katayama, head writer Chiaki J. Konaka; Sunrise. Set in Paradigm City, where all residents lost their memories forty years prior, Roger Smith—the city’s top Negotiator—resolves conflicts with R. Dorothy Wayneright and Norman Burg, piloting the megadeus Big O. Aired on WOWOW; reduced from 26 episodes due to low Japanese viewership. Found success on Cartoon Network’s Toonami (2001).
