The Big O II (2003) is the 13-episode second season of the The Big O franchise. Cartoon Network joined Sunrise and Bandai Visual as co-producers after Western success with the first season; the sequel delved deeper into the existential mysteries underlying Paradigm City—identity, memory, and the nature of reality. Chiaki J. Konaka scripted; director Kazuyoshi Katayama. Aired on Sun Television and Adult Swim. Received more mixed reviews than the first season; noted for ambiguous ending.
