Rayet Areash

Rayet Areash is a supporting character in Aldnoah.Zero. An Earth girl who initially allied with the Vers Empire out of hatred for the Federation, she later defected to the Earth Forces after learning the truth about the war.

History

Season 1

Rayet’s father was killed during a previous conflict with the Vers Empire, fueling her hatred for the Federation and its military. When Count Saazbaum offered her a chance for revenge, she joined his forces and fought against Earth’s defenders.

However, as the war progressed, Rayet witnessed the true cost of the conflict and the manipulation of both sides by those in power. Her interactions with Inaho Kaizuka and other Earth soldiers challenged her assumptions about the enemy. Eventually, she defected to the Earth Forces, seeking redemption and a chance to protect those she had once fought against.

Season 2

Following her defection, Rayet served with the Earth Forces as a mechanic and occasional pilot. Her knowledge of Vers technology proved invaluable to the Earth’s war effort. She struggled with guilt over her past actions but found acceptance among her new comrades.

Personality

Rayet is characterized by her emotional intensity and willingness to act on her beliefs, even when they lead her astray. Her initial hatred for the Federation blinded her to the larger political machinations at play. However, her capacity for growth and change demonstrates the series’ theme that understanding can overcome hatred.

Despite her tough exterior, Rayet is deeply compassionate and feels guilt strongly. Her defection was motivated not just by strategic considerations but by genuine remorse for the harm she had caused.

Relationships
