Prospera Mercury

Prospera Mercury (プロスペラ・マーキュリー, Purospera Mākyurī) is a central character in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury. She is Suletta Mercury’s mother and was formerly Elnora Samaya (エルノラ・サマヤ), a test pilot and researcher at the Vanadis Institute who survived the Vanadis Incident. She built the Gundam Aerial and raised Suletta on Mercury whilst pursuing revenge against Delling Rembran and the Benerit Group.

Biography

Elnora Samaya was at Fólkvangr when Dominicus destroyed the Vanadis Institute; she and her daughter Ericht Samaya survived. She adopted the identity Prospera Mercury, raised Suletta, and developed the Aerial—linked to Ericht—as part of a long-term plan to expose the Benerit Group and avenge the “witches” of Vanadis. Her actions drive much of the series’ plot; the resolution involves Suletta and Miorine Rembran choosing a path that diverges from Prospera’s revenge.
