Nilokeras

The Nilokeras is a custom Areion variant piloted by Slaine Troyard in Aldnoah.Zero. Named after a genus of scarab beetle, this machine reflects Slaine’s rise from humble page to one of the most formidable pilots in the war.

Design

Based on the standard Areion platform, the Nilokeras features significant upgrades in armor, mobility, and firepower. Its reinforced frame can withstand heavier punishment than standard Vers machines, while its enhanced Aldnoah Drive provides superior acceleration and maneuverability.

The Nilokeras is equipped with a high-output beam cannon as its primary ranged weapon, capable of devastating enemy positions in a single shot. For close combat, it carries blade weapons optimized for Slaine’s aggressive fighting style, which favors rapid approaches and overwhelming pressure rather than the measured tactics of typical Vers knights.

A distinctive shield provides additional defensive capability, allowing Slaine to push into enemy fire while closing distance for melee attacks.

Combat Record

The Nilokeras saw extensive action during the second season of the war, when Slaine Troyard used it to establish his dominance over both Earth and Vers forces. Its performance matched Slaine’s growing reputation as a tactical genius, though it ultimately proved insufficient against the combined efforts of Inaho Kaizuka and the Earth Forces.

The machine’s capabilities were pushed to their limits in the final battles, demonstrating both its strengths and the limitations of even custom Vers technology when facing determined opposition.
