Areion
Standard mobile armor of the Vers Empire.
The Areion is the standard-issue mobile armor of the Vers Empire in Aldnoah.Zero. Used by the Mars Knights during the invasion of Earth, it represents the baseline combat platform of the Vers military.
Design
The Areion features a humanoid design optimized for versatility across multiple environments. Its compact frame allows operation in both atmospheric and space conditions, though individual units are often customized by their pilots for specific combat roles.
The Areion is powered by an Aldnoah Drive, granting it superior mobility and energy output compared to conventional Earth technology. This advantage, combined with the Vers Empire’s advanced materials science, made the Areion significantly more capable than early Earth Forces mobile armors.
Variants
Standard Areion
The baseline model used by most Mars Knights. Equipped with a beam rifle for ranged combat and a blade weapon for close quarters. Performance varies based on pilot skill and mission customization.
Nilokeras
A custom variant piloted by Slaine Troyard. Features enhanced armor, improved mobility, and unique weaponry tailored to Slaine’s aggressive combat style. The Nilokeras became Slaine’s signature machine as he rose through the Vers ranks.
Dioscuria
A specialized twin-unit variant designed for coordinated combat. Two Dioscuria units can operate in perfect synchronization, sharing targeting data and executing complex combined attacks.
Combat Record
The Areion dominated early engagements during the Vers Empire’s invasion of Earth, outclassing the Earth Forces’ conventional weapons. However, pilots like Inaho Kaizuka demonstrated that tactical ingenuity and environmental exploitation could overcome the Areion’s technological advantages.
As the war progressed, the Earth Forces developed modified Areion units using captured Vers technology, narrowing the performance gap and eventually turning the Vers’ own machines against them.
