Neo Roanoke

Neo Roanoke (ネオ・ロアノーク, Neo Roanōku) was the amnesiac identity of Mu La Flaga in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny. Believing himself to be “Neo Roanoke”, he served as an Earth Alliance pilot and commander in the Phantom Pain unit, piloting the GAT-04 Windam and later the ZGMF-X24S Chaos Gundam after Sting Oakley’s death. He fought against the Archangel and Murrue Ramius without recognising them until his memories began to return.

Biography

Mu was thought killed during the First Alliance-PLANT War when he shielded the Archangel from Rau Le Creuset’s attack. He was recovered by the Earth Alliance with severe injuries and memory loss, and was given the identity “Neo Roanoke” and placed in Phantom Pain. As Neo he commanded Extended pilots and clashed with ZAFT and the Archangel. Encounters with Murrue and the Archangel eventually triggered the return of his memories, and he later rejoined his former allies.

Relationship to Mu La Flaga

Neo Roanoke and Mu La Flaga are the same person; “Neo” is the false identity imposed after Mu’s apparent death and amnesia. For the original character and his role in SEED, see Mu La Flaga.
