Mu La Flaga

Mu La Flaga (ムウ・ラ・フラガ, Mū Ra Furagā) was a Natural mobile suit pilot who served as captain of the Archangel during the First Alliance-PLANT War in Cosmic Era 71. Known as the “Hawk of Endymion” for his exceptional piloting abilities, Mu was one of the few Naturals capable of competing with Coordinator pilots in mobile suit combat. His leadership and combat skills made him a key figure in the Archangel’s survival throughout the conflict.

Biography

Early life and military career

Mu La Flaga was born in CE 43 as the son of Al Da Flaga, a prominent Earth Alliance figure. Mu distinguished himself as an exceptional mobile suit pilot despite being a Natural, earning the nickname “Hawk of Endymion” for his combat performance. His abilities were so exceptional that he was considered one of the few Naturals who could match Coordinator pilots in mobile suit combat.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Mu was assigned to the Earth Alliance vessel Archangel as its captain and primary mobile suit pilot. When ZAFT forces attacked Heliopolis and the Archangel was forced to flee, Mu’s leadership and combat skills became essential to the ship’s survival. He piloted the TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero, an advanced mobile armour equipped with remote-controlled weapons.

Mu’s relationship with Kira Yamato, the young Coordinator pilot who was forced to operate the Strike Gundam, became an important aspect of his character. Mu served as a mentor figure to Kira, providing guidance and support whilst also respecting Kira’s abilities and decisions. Their partnership demonstrated the possibility of cooperation between Naturals and Coordinators.

As the war progressed, Mu continued to serve as the Archangel’s captain, leading the ship through numerous battles and dangerous situations. His tactical thinking and combat experience proved invaluable, and he played a key role in the formation of the Three Ships Alliance, a coalition that sought to end the war.

Personality & traits

Mu was characterised by his calm and confident leadership style, remaining composed under pressure and making difficult decisions when necessary. His exceptional piloting abilities gave him confidence in combat, but he was not arrogant, instead recognising the abilities of others including Coordinator pilots like Kira.

Mu’s belief in cooperation between Naturals and Coordinators set him apart from many in the Earth Alliance, particularly those influenced by Blue Cosmos. His willingness to work with Coordinators and his respect for their abilities reflected a more pragmatic and humane approach to the conflict.

As the “Hawk of Endymion”, Mu possessed exceptional piloting abilities that allowed him to compete with Coordinator pilots despite being a Natural. His skills were honed through extensive combat experience, and his tactical thinking made him an effective leader both in mobile suit combat and as the Archangel’s captain.

Mu’s ability to utilise the Moebius Zero’s remote weapon system demonstrated his advanced piloting techniques, allowing him to engage multiple enemies simultaneously. His combat experience and tactical acumen made him one of the most capable pilots in the Earth Alliance.

Mecha

TS-MA2mod.00 Moebius Zero

Mu’s primary mobile armour, the Moebius Zero, was equipped with four remote-controlled weapons called “Gunbarrels” that could operate independently. This system allowed Mu to engage multiple enemies simultaneously, making him exceptionally effective in combat despite being a Natural pilot.

Aile Strike Gundam

On occasion, Mu piloted the Strike Gundam when Kira was unavailable, utilising the Aile striker pack for enhanced mobility. While not as skilled with the Strike as Kira, Mu’s piloting abilities allowed him to use the mobile suit effectively.
