Marito Kaizuka
Former soldier and Inaho's brother-in-law.
Marito Kaizuka (界塚 マリト, Kaizuka Marito) was a former soldier who became a doctor. With his wife Yuki Kaizuka he ran the Kaizuka Medical Clinic, and during the war against the Vers Empire he supported his brother-in-law Inaho Kaizuka.
History
Marito Kaizuka left the military for medicine, then returned to the war as an adviser and doctor when the Vers Empire invaded Earth.
Civilian practice
Marito had left military service for a career in medicine, and he ran a small clinic with his wife.
The invasion
When the Vers Empire invaded Earth, his military background made him a valuable adviser to the local defence forces. He recognised Inaho’s ability and supported the decision to join the fight, despite his wife’s concerns.
During the invasion he gave medical support and tactical advice to the Earth Forces. His experience as a soldier let him see the strain on the younger pilots, and he stood between the military command and the civilian volunteers.
Later medical service
Marito went on supporting the war through his practice, treating wounded soldiers and civilians alike. His tie to Inaho deepened as the fighting escalated, though he worried about the toll it took on the young pilot.
Personality
Marito was calmly professional, and quietly strong. As a former soldier he understood combat, and he had chosen to heal rather than fight. The clinic was his commitment to preserving life in the face of the war’s destruction.
He was a father figure to Inaho, offering guidance without pressing it. He accepted Inaho’s place in the war because he knew that some battles had to be fought, even at great personal cost.
