GN-010 Gundam Zabanya
All-around shooting Gundam piloted by Lyle Dylandy in Awakening of the Trailblazer; successor to the Cherudim with extensive bit weaponry.
The GN-010 Gundam Zabanya (ガンダムザバーニャ, Gandamu Zabānya) was an assault mobile suit developed by Celestial Being and piloted by Lyle Dylandy (the second Lockon Stratos) in the film Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer. Deployed in AD 2314, it was the successor to the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam and the GN-002 Gundam Dynames line. Unlike those sniper-focused units, the Zabanya was designed as an all-around shooting type for multi-target combat, reflecting Lyle’s preference for multiple guns and ranged support. It was heavily armed with GN Holster Bits, GN Pistol Bits, GN Rifle Bit IIs, and numerous GN Missile Pods, and required two Haro support units to manage its complex bit control system.
History
Development and deployment
The Zabanya inherited its frame from the Cherudim but was optimised for sustained, multi-target firepower rather than long-range sniping. It was completed in AD 2314 for Celestial Being’s operations against the ELS and served as Lyle’s primary unit throughout the film.
Awakening of the Trailblazer
Lyle piloted the Zabanya during the ELS conflict, using its extensive bit weaponry and missile pods to engage multiple targets and support the other Gundam Meisters. The unit participated in the final battle to protect Earth. An optional configuration added four extra GN Holster Bits for the climax of the battle.
Design
The Zabanya stood 18.0 metres tall and weighed 86.9 metric tons. It featured superior sensor systems with multiple cameras normally protected by armour and revealed when needed. Its ten GN Holster Bits could deploy GN Pistol Bits and GN Rifle Bit IIs for remote or handheld use; two bits could combine to form a shield. Twenty 3-tube GN Missile Pods were distributed across the body, giving the unit a “walking weapons arsenal” character. Two Haro units assisted the pilot with bit control.
