GN-002 Gundam Dynames

The GN-002 Gundam Dynames was a long-range sniper mobile suit developed by Celestial Being and piloted by Lockon Stratos during the organisation’s armed intervention operations in Anno Domini 2307. The Dynames was one of four third-generation Gundams deployed by Celestial Being, distinguished by its powerful sniper systems and long-range combat capabilities.

History

Development and deployment

The Gundam Dynames was developed by Celestial Being as part of its third-generation Gundam mobile suit programme, designed to provide long-range fire support for armed intervention operations. The Dynames was specifically designed for sniper operations, featuring powerful beam rifles and advanced targeting systems that allowed it to engage enemies at extreme ranges.

The mobile suit was deployed in AD 2307 when Celestial Being began its armed intervention operations, with Lockon Stratos assigned as its pilot. The Dynames participated in numerous missions, providing long-range support for other Gundam Meisters and engaging enemies from safe distances.

Combat operations

Throughout the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the Dynames engaged in numerous battles, utilising its sniper capabilities to eliminate targets from long range. The mobile suit’s superior technology, powered by a GN Drive, gave it significant advantages over conventional mobile suits, including enhanced sensor systems and powerful beam weapons.

The Dynames’ long-range specialisation made it highly effective in support roles, where Lockon’s exceptional marksmanship combined with the mobile suit’s sniper systems to provide accurate fire support. However, the mobile suit’s focus on long-range combat left it vulnerable in close-quarters engagements.

Design

The Gundam Dynames’ design emphasised long-range combat capabilities through its powerful sniper systems and enhanced sensor equipment. The mobile suit featured E-Carbon armour, providing excellent protection whilst maintaining functionality for sniper operations.

The Dynames’ most distinctive feature was its GN Sniper Rifle, a powerful beam weapon capable of engaging targets at extreme ranges. The mobile suit also featured enhanced sensor systems that allowed it to detect and track targets over long distances. The mobile suit’s colour scheme, primarily green with yellow accents, gave it a distinctive appearance.

GN Drive

The Dynames was powered by a GN Drive, a revolutionary power source that produced GN particles. These particles provided nearly unlimited energy, allowing the mobile suit to operate for extended periods and power its powerful beam weapons without ammunition limitations.

Armaments

The Gundam Dynames’ armament was designed exclusively for long-range combat:

GN Sniper Rifle

The Dynames’ primary weapon was the GN Sniper Rifle, a powerful beam weapon capable of engaging targets at extreme ranges with precision accuracy. The rifle featured multiple firing modes and could be equipped with various accessories for different combat scenarios.

GN Beam Pistol

Two GN Beam Pistols provided additional ranged capabilities, allowing the Dynames to engage enemies at medium ranges when the sniper rifle was not suitable.

GN Beam Sabre

Two GN Beam Sabres stored on the Dynames’ hips provided basic close-combat capability, though the mobile suit was not optimised for melee combat.

GN Shield

The Dynames carried a GN Shield, providing defence against both physical and beam attacks. The shield could be used to protect the mobile suit whilst operating in sniper positions.

GN Missile

Multiple GN Missiles were stored in the Dynames’ shoulders, providing additional firepower for engaging multiple enemies or area targets.
