Yuhata Midorikawa (緑川 纈) is a key strategist and officer aboard Sidonia in Knights of Sidonia. The younger sister of pilot Izumo Midorikawa, who was killed in action, she initially aspired to become a Garde pilot but instead applied her tactical genius to command, serving as Commander’s Aide, then Vice Commander, and eventually Commander of the ship Mizuki.
Energetic and passionate about model Gardes, Yuhata at first rivals Izana Shinatose for Nagate Tanikaze’s affection but later becomes a close friend to both. Her arc reflects the series’ themes of identity, loss, and leadership in humanity’s fight against the Gauna.
