Knights of Sidonia (シドニアの騎士) is the manga by Tsutomu Nihei serialised in Monthly Afternoon (2009–2015). Nagate Tanikaze leaves the depths of Sidonia to pilot Gardes against the Gauna. It won the Kodansha Manga Award and Seiun Award and was adapted into the anime.
