Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Mayfly of Space

Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Mayfly of Space (機動戦士ガンダム0083 宇宙の蜉蝣, Kidō Senshi Gandamu 0083 Uchū no Kagerō) is a side-story for Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Originally produced as an audio drama, it was later adapted into animated form for home video releases, and is set prior to the main events of the OVA.

The short focuses on Cima Garahau and her unit as they approach the Morota Sea for a covert rendezvous with Federation officials, haunted by memories of the Mahal colony nerve gas incident during the One Year War. By depicting Cima’s perspective on the betrayal surrounding the use of G-3 nerve gas and the weaponisation of the colony, Mayfly of Space deepens her motives and the bitterness that later drives her actions in Operation Stardust.
