Birdcage
Birdcage is the nickname for the isolated facilities in Darling in the FranXX where Parasites live and train—formally Mistilteinn. The term echoes the Jian myth: a bird with one wing that can only fly with a partner, reflecting the Pistil–Stamen pairs and the theme of connection. Children in birdcages discover emotions and relationships despite the sterile society that created them.
