Pistil
Pistil is the designation for female pilots in Darling in the FranXX. Pistils undergo neural synchronisation with FranXX units, effectively merging with the mecha’s sensory and combat systems whilst Stamens provide control from behind. The pairing and the reproductive terminology (Pistil and Stamen) underscore the series’ themes of intimacy, sexuality, and connection. Squad 13 Pistils include Zero Two, Ichigo, Kokoro, Miku, and Ikuno.
