Vulture
Armed salvage groups that roam the After War wasteland in search of mobile suits and technology.
Vulture (バルチャー, Baruchā) is the generic term for armed salvage groups in the After War timeline of After War Gundam X. After the 7th Space War and the colony drops that devastated Earth, Vultures roam the wasteland in search of mobile suits, parts, and technology left from the war. They are not a single organisation but many independent crews; some are mercenary or predatory, others more like the Freeden crew who take on protection and transport work.
Overview
Garrod Ran is introduced as a Vulture before he finds the Gundam X and joins the Freeden. The Freeden itself operates as a Vulture ship, travelling the Earth and space to salvage and complete missions while protecting Tiffa Adill and opposing the New United Nations Earth and the Space Revolutionary Army. The term “Vulture” reflects the post-apocalyptic economy of scavenging and reuse.
