Turn A Gundam (∀(ターンエー)ガンダム, Tān Ē Gandamu) is a 1999 anime series set in the Correct Century (CC) timeline. It follows Loran Cehack, a young member of the Moonrace sent to Earth on a reconnaissance mission, who later pilots the mysterious System ∀-99 ∀ Gundam when tensions between Moonrace settlers and Earth nations erupt into open conflict.

Overview

Set thousands of years after the Space Age and the sealed Dark History, Turn A Gundam depicts an Earth that has regressed to early 20th-century technology while the Moonrace maintains advanced civilisation on the Moon. As the Moonrace seeks to return to Earth, political negotiations fail, leading to clashes between Moonrace mobile suits and the improvised Earth Militia forces that dig up relic mobile suits from the “mountain cycles”.

The series explores themes of technological regression, environmental recovery, and reconciliation between Earthrace and Moonrace, framed through Loran’s relationships with the Heim family and Moonrace leaders such as Dianna Soreil.
