Rygart Arrow

Rygart Arrow (ライガット・アロー) is the protagonist of Broken Blade. On the continent of Cruzon, where almost everyone can manipulate quartz to power Golems and technology, Rygart is an “un-sorcerer”—unable to use magic and thus marginalised. That same inability makes him one of the rare people who can pilot the ancient Delphine, a Golem that does not respond to quartz users and far surpasses modern units.

Caught in the war between the Kingdom of Krisna and the Athens Commonwealth, Rygart fights alongside Krisna. He was once close friends with Hodr (now King of Krisna), Sigyn (Krisna’s queen and engineer), and Zess (who serves Athens); the series explores how war strains those bonds. His arc centres on finding purpose despite being seen as disabled, and on the cost of using Delphine’s power to protect what he cares about.
