MSR-100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai Mass Production Type
Prototype assault mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics.
The MSR-100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai Mass Production Type was a prototype assault mobile suit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG). It was built from the damaged frame of the MSR-00100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai.
The mass production version of the Hyaku Shiki Kai used the shorter designation of MSR-100S instead of MSR-00100S.
History
During the Gryps Conflict, the AEUG commissioned Anaheim Electronics to develop their next generation of mobile suits under Project Zeta. While the project’s main goal was to produce the transformable MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam, it also led to the development of the MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki from the rejected MSN-001 Delta Gundam design.
Anaheim Electronics later produced an improved version, the MSR-00100 Hyaku-Shiki Kai. Using its damaged frame, they developed the MSR-100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai Mass Production Type with simplified equipment and weaponry to reduce costs and increase production efficiency.
Despite its strong performance, high manufacturing costs and the distinctive gold coating that made it prominent on the battlefield led to the cancellation of mass production plans. One unit was assigned to the Earth Federation’s Mariana base for testing alongside the MSN-001X Gundam Delta Kai. This unit, piloted by Martin Murtaugh, was destroyed during the Devil’s Nest operation against Titans remnants in UC 0094.
Design
Anaheim Electronics built the MSR-100S Hyaku-Shiki Kai Mass Production Type on the frame of the MSR-00100 Hyaku-Shiki Kai. To optimize production efficiency, they removed the back binders and replaced specialized weapons with standardized armaments.
The mobile suit retained the distinctive gold coating of its predecessor, though testing revealed only marginally improved anti-beam properties compared to standard anti-beam coatings. Its frame was constructed from Gundarium γ alloy, an improved version of the Luna Titanium alloy alloy developed by Anaheim Electronics.
The cockpit featured a panoramic monitor system with a linear seat, mounted in the torso section. Rocket thrusters provided the main propulsion.
Armaments
The Hyaku-Shiki Kai Mass Production Type’s standard weapons included beam sabers for melee combat and a beam rifle for ranged attacks. It also featured a shoulder-mounted multi-purpose launcher.
Beam sabers
Two beam sabers with a power rating of 0.4 megawatts each were stored in recharge racks on the rear waist armor. The beam sabers used an I-field to contain Minovsky particles in the shape of a blade, capable of cutting through almost any material.
BR-M-87 beam rifle
The BR-M-87 beam rifle served as the mobile suit’s primary ranged weapon, with a power output of 2.8 megawatts. It used replaceable energy capacitors (E-packs) and featured a retractable hook for storage on the backpack.
Multi-purpose launcher
A 6-tube multi-purpose launcher mounted on the right shoulder could accommodate various ammunition types depending on mission requirements.
Optional armaments
The AE/ZIM.C-BAZ-531 300 mm clay bazooka could fire both adhesive rounds for immobilizing enemies and conventional explosive shells.
