Mobile Trace System
Control system that maps a pilot's movements to a mobile fighter in the Future Century.
The Mobile Trace System (モビルトレースシステム, Mobiru Torēsu Shisutemu) is the control interface used by mobile fighters in the Future Century timeline, most prominently in Mobile Fighter G Gundam. It maps the pilot’s body movements to the machine, enabling martial-arts combat and signature techniques that rely on direct motion rather than conventional joysticks.
Overview
Unlike standard mobile suit cockpits, the Mobile Trace System places the pilot in a motion-capture environment. The pilot’s stance, strikes, and footwork are translated into the mobile fighter’s actions, making skill in martial arts directly applicable in battle. This approach underpins the Gundam Fight tournament and the distinct fighting styles of different Neo nations.
The system is used by units such as the Shining Gundam, God Gundam, and Master Gundam, and is central to how Domon Kasshu fights throughout the series.
