GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam
Neo Japan's mobile fighter piloted by Domon Kasshu; predecessor to the God Gundam in G Gundam.
The GF13-017NJ Shining Gundam (GF13-017NJ シャイニングガンダム) is Neo Japan’s mobile fighter in Mobile Fighter G Gundam, piloted by Domon Kasshu in the 13th Gundam Fight. It uses the Mobile Trace System to replicate the pilot’s movements and is armed with the Shining Finger and other techniques. It is later upgraded to the God Gundam (Burning Gundam).
History
Domon pilots the Shining Gundam at the start of the series, battling other nations’ mobile fighters. After it is damaged or outclassed, he receives the God Gundam. The Shining Gundam remains iconic for its design and the “Shining Finger” attack.
Design
The Shining Gundam embodies a Japanese martial-arts aesthetic and uses the Mobile Trace System for direct pilot control. Its signature move is the Shining Finger, a powerful hand-held beam attack.
