JW-001 Jagd Weiss
The JW-001 Jagd Weiss was a custom mobile suit modified from a Jagd Doga for use by the mercenary organisation Argent Keil.
The JW-001 Jagd Weiss was a custom mobile suit modified from a Jagd Doga constructed from spare parts that was scheduled to be transferred to the Neo Zeon remnants. All of the original psycommu equipment has been omitted. In addition to strengthening the sensors, the shoulder shield has also been redesigned, increasing the thrust capacity.
The “JW” designation stood for “Jagd Weiss” whilst “001” indicated it was the first unit of this type in Argent Keil’s fleet.
History
Development
The Jagd Weiss was modified from an MSN-03 Jagd Doga constructed from spare parts that was scheduled to be transferred to the Neo Zeon remnants. Argent Keil obtained this unit and modified it extensively for their own use, removing all traces of its Neo Zeon origins.
The modification process involved completely removing the original psycommu equipment that had made the Jagd Doga so formidable in the hands of Newtype pilots. This allowed for significant weight reduction and freed up internal space for other systems.
The unit’s designation “JW-001” followed Argent Keil’s custom naming convention, with “JW” standing for “Jagd Weiss” and “001” indicating it was the first unit of this type in their fleet.
Operational history
The JW-001 Jagd Weiss was piloted by Babia Lena, the adoptive daughter of veteran Argent Keil pilot Mabel Lena. Babia was a war orphan who had been taken in by Mabel and trained as a mobile suit pilot.
The Jagd Weiss saw action during UC 0096 as part of Argent Keil’s mercenary operations. The suit participated in various missions undertaken by the organisation, including their contract to assassinate the high-ranking Federation official Azami Meggineh.
During these operations, the Jagd Weiss worked alongside other Argent Keil units, including the RZ-002 Re-GZ (Argent Keil Type) piloted by Mabel Lena and the DZ-001 Delta Zayin operated by the protagonist.
Design features
The Jagd Weiss retained the basic frame and silhouette of the Jagd Doga but underwent significant modifications to suit Argent Keil’s requirements. The most notable changes included strengthening the sensor systems to compensate for the removal of psycommu equipment.
The shoulder shield was completely redesigned, not only improving its defensive capabilities but also increasing the thrust capacity. This modification enhanced the suit’s mobility and manoeuvrability in combat situations.
Like all Argent Keil mobile suits, the Jagd Weiss featured the organisation’s characteristic silver colour scheme, completely replacing the original Neo Zeon livery.
Armament
The Jagd Weiss carried a focused armament package that emphasised close combat capabilities whilst maintaining some ranged firepower.
Beam saber
The Jagd Weiss was equipped with a beam saber for close combat situations.
Heat knife
The suit also carried a heat knife, providing an alternative melee weapon option for different combat scenarios.
Beam shot launcher
The Jagd Weiss’s primary ranged weapon was a special beam shot launcher, custom-designed for this modified unit. This weapon provided considerable firepower whilst maintaining the suit’s mobility.

Behind the scenes
The JW-001 Jagd Weiss was designed by Akitaka Mika for Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom. Akitaka Mika is a Japanese mechanical designer and video game creator. He is mainly known for his work in the Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory animated series.
“Weiss” is a German word which means “white,” continuing the naming convention established by the original Jagd Doga, whose name combines German (“Jagd” meaning “hunt”) with an altered version of “Doga.”
