Gundam Fight
Recurring tournament that determines political leadership in the Future Century.
The Gundam Fight (ガンダムファイト, Gandamu Faito) is the recurring tournament that determines political leadership in the Future Century timeline. Colony nations select a representative “Gundam Fighter” and a mobile fighter, competing on Earth under international regulations; the champion nation gains authority for the next cycle. The tournament framework is the core premise of Mobile Fighter G Gundam, which is set during the 13th Gundam Fight in FC 60.
Overview
The Gundam Fight replaces large-scale war with a controlled competition. Mobile fighters employ the Mobile Trace System, allowing pilots to translate martial arts directly into combat manoeuvres. Nations develop distinctive machines and fighting styles, and the tournament’s politics and rivalries shape the series’ cast and conflicts.
In G Gundam, Domon Kasshu represents Neo Japan and battles other nations’ fighters as the tournament escalates into a wider crisis involving the Devil Gundam.
