GNT-0000 00 Qan[T]

The GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] (ダブルオー・クアンタ, Daburu Ō Kuanta, “Double-O Quanta”) was a fifth-generation Gundam developed by Celestial Being and piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei in the film Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Awakening of the Trailblazer. Designed for Setsuna as Celestial Being’s first Innovator pilot, the 00 Qan[T] was the successor to the GN-0000+GNR-010 00 Raiser, featuring an upgraded Twin Drive System and the new Quantum System for enhanced GN particle control and communication with the ELS.

History

Development and deployment

The 00 Qan[T] was completed in AD 2314, two years after the defeat of the Innovators, in preparation for Celestial Being’s continued operations and the eventual first contact with the ELS (Extraterrestrial Living-metal Shapeshifters). It was built as the flagship unit for Setsuna, who had become an Innovator, and incorporated lessons learned from the 00 Raiser.

Awakening of the Trailblazer

The 00 Qan[T] served as Setsuna’s primary mobile suit during the ELS conflict. Its Quantum System allowed Setsuna to initiate quantum brainwave-based communication with the ELS, ultimately leading to understanding and peace between humanity and the alien species. The unit participated in the final battle to protect Earth and was central to resolving the crisis through dialogue rather than destruction.

Design

The 00 Qan[T] retained the twin GN Drive layout of the 00 Raiser, with refinements for greater stability and output. Its silhouette was cleaner and more refined than the 00 Raiser, with a prominent left-shoulder GN Shield and the GN Sword V as its primary close-combat weapon. The GN Sword Bits could operate as remote weapons or combine with the main sword for extended reach and power.

Quantum System

The Quantum System was an evolution of the 00 Raiser’s capabilities, enabling the pilot to broadcast and receive quantum-level information. In Setsuna’s hands it became a bridge for communication with the ELS, fulfilling the theme of “dialogue” that the film emphasises.
