GN-003 Gundam Kyrios

The GN-003 Gundam Kyrios was a transformable mobile suit developed by Celestial Being and piloted by Allelujah Haptism during the organisation’s armed intervention operations in Anno Domini 2307. The Kyrios was one of four third-generation Gundams deployed by Celestial Being, distinguished by its ability to transform between mobile suit and mobile armour modes, providing exceptional mobility and versatility.

History

Development and deployment

The Gundam Kyrios was developed by Celestial Being as part of its third-generation Gundam mobile suit programme, designed to provide high-mobility support for armed intervention operations. The Kyrios was specifically designed for transformation capabilities, allowing it to switch between mobile suit and mobile armour modes to adapt to different combat scenarios.

The mobile suit was deployed in AD 2307 when Celestial Being began its armed intervention operations, with Allelujah Haptism assigned as its pilot. The Kyrios participated in numerous missions, utilising its transformation capabilities to provide rapid deployment and tactical flexibility.

Combat operations

Throughout the first season of Mobile Suit Gundam 00, the Kyrios engaged in numerous battles, utilising its transformation capabilities to adapt to different combat scenarios. The mobile suit’s superior technology, powered by a GN Drive, gave it significant advantages over conventional mobile suits, including enhanced mobility and speed in mobile armour mode.

The Kyrios’ transformation capabilities made it highly effective in reconnaissance, rapid deployment, and hit-and-run tactics. The mobile suit could quickly switch between modes to engage enemies at different ranges and escape from unfavourable situations.

Design

The Gundam Kyrios’ design emphasised high mobility and versatility through its transformation system. The mobile suit featured E-Carbon armour, providing excellent protection whilst maintaining low weight for enhanced mobility in both mobile suit and mobile armour modes.

The Kyrios’ most distinctive feature was its ability to transform into a mobile armour mode, which provided enhanced speed and mobility at the cost of combat capabilities. The transformation system allowed the mobile suit to rapidly switch between modes, providing tactical flexibility in various combat scenarios.

The mobile suit’s colour scheme, primarily orange with white and grey accents, gave it a distinctive appearance. The design emphasised aerodynamic features that enhanced its performance in mobile armour mode.

GN Drive

The Kyrios was powered by a GN Drive, a revolutionary power source that produced GN particles. These particles provided nearly unlimited energy, allowing the mobile suit to operate for extended periods and power its transformation systems without performance degradation.

Armaments

The Gundam Kyrios’ armament was designed for high-mobility combat:

GN Beam Submachine Gun

The Kyrios’ primary weapon was the GN Beam Submachine Gun, a rapid-fire beam weapon optimised for mobile armour mode combat. The weapon provided effective firepower whilst maintaining the mobile suit’s mobility advantages.

GN Beam Sabre

Two GN Beam Sabres stored on the Kyrios’ hips provided close-combat capability. These weapons could be used in mobile suit mode for melee engagements.

GN Shield

The Kyrios carried a GN Shield, providing defence against both physical and beam attacks. The shield could be used in both mobile suit and mobile armour modes.

GN Missile

Multiple GN Missiles were stored in the Kyrios’ shoulders, providing additional firepower for engaging multiple enemies or area targets.

Transformation System

The Kyrios’ transformation system was its most distinctive feature, allowing it to switch between mobile suit and mobile armour modes. The mobile armour mode emphasised speed and mobility, whilst the mobile suit mode provided combat versatility.
