Gabriel Ramirez Garcia

Gabriel Ramirez Garcia (ガブリエル・ラミレス・ガルシア, Gaburieru Ramiresu Garushia), commonly called Garcia, was a Principality of Zeon demolitions specialist and member of the elite Cyclops Team special forces unit during the One Year War. He served as the team’s explosives expert during Operation Rubicon, the covert mission to destroy the RX-78NT-1 Gundam “Alex” at the neutral Side 6 colony.

Biography

Gabriel Ramirez Garcia served the Cyclops Team as its demolitions expert, bringing technical expertise in explosives that proved critical to the team’s sabotage missions until his death during Operation Rubicon.

Cyclops Team Service

Garcia specialised in demolitions and explosives, making him invaluable for Cyclops Team’s sabotage and destruction missions. He served under Lieutenant Hardie Steiner’s command alongside Mikhail Kaminsky, Andy Strauss, and later Bernard Wiseman.

His technical expertise in explosives complemented the team’s mobile suit combat capabilities, allowing Cyclops Team to execute complex operations requiring both combat prowess and precise demolition work.

Operation Rubicon

In December UC 0079, Cyclops Team received orders to infiltrate Side 6, a neutral colony cluster, and destroy the RX-78NT-1 “Alex”, a prototype Gundam being developed for delivery to Amuro Ray. The mission required violating Side 6’s neutrality whilst maintaining operational security to avoid diplomatic incidents.

Garcia’s role focused on preparing demolition charges for the Federation facility, conducting technical reconnaissance of the target site, supporting the team’s infiltration with explosive expertise, and providing demolition support during the final assault.

Final Mission

During the climactic assault on the Federation facility on 24-25 December UC 0079, Garcia participated in the attack that would claim most of Cyclops Team’s lives. The operation succeeded in destroying the Gundam Alex, but Federation resistance proved fiercer than anticipated.

Garcia was killed in action during the battle, joining Mikhail Kaminsky and Hardie Steiner among Cyclops Team’s casualties. Only Bernard Wiseman and Andy Strauss survived the initial assault, though Bernie would die shortly after in his final duel with the Alex.
