The Foundation conflict (ファウンデーション紛争) was the armed confrontation between Compass and the Kingdom of Foundation in Cosmic Era 75, forming the central plot of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom. Compass, the peace monitoring organisation led by Lacus Clyne, clashed with Foundation after the latter’s leadership—Queen Aura Maha Khyber and Chancellor Orphee Lam Tao—pursued an agenda that threatened stability. The conflict drew in the Millennium and the Yamato Team (Kira Yamato, Shinn Asuka, Agnes Giebenrath, and others), culminating in the deployment of advanced units including the Rising Freedom, Immortal Justice, and the Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam.
