Dummy Plug system
The Dummy Plug system is a technology developed by NERV that allows Evangelion units to be controlled without a pilot in the entry plug. Instead, the EVA is operated by a “dummy plug”—a system that uses copied personality data to simulate pilot input. The system is used when a pilot is unavailable or when NERV requires unquestioning obedience.
The Dummy Plug plays a significant role in Neon Genesis Evangelion and The End of Evangelion, with tragic consequences.
