California Base

California Base (カリフォルニアベース, Kariforunia Bēsu) was a major Earth Federation Forces military installation located in North America that served as strategic headquarters, manufacturing centre, and operational base during the One Year War. As one of the Federation’s most important Earth-based military facilities, California Base played crucial role in the war effort against the Principality of Zeon.¹

During the conflict, California Base coordinated Federation forces across North America, overseeing intelligence analysis, strategic planning, and the support of units such as the White Base.² Its production lines turned out GM units, weapons, ammunition, and spare parts, making the facility a cornerstone of the Federation’s logistics network.² Zeon commanders recognised the base’s importance and launched repeated assaults, but the defences held, ensuring the Federation retained its critical industrial foothold on Earth.²

Post-War Importance

California Base continued as major Federation military installation after the One Year War, serving in various capacities during later UC conflicts including the Gryps Conflict and subsequent wars.³
