Area 11

Area 11 (エリア11, Eria Jūichi) is the Holy Britannian Empire’s designation for Japan after its conquest in the Code Geass franchise. The former Japan is the primary setting for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and R2, where Lelouch vi Britannia lives under the alias Lelouch Lamperouge and leads the Black Knights as Zero to liberate the area.

Britannian rule imposes discrimination on the native population (Elevens), who are forced to live in designated zones. The resistance centred in Area 11 drives much of the series’ conflict.
